We were on holiday when our term deposit matured. Not having received instructions Skipton locked away 100,000 pounds of our money for a further 2 years. This will cause us real problems. Communication was by letter - no email. This is a terrible customer experience.

With the choice to re-invest at higher interest rate I am very satisfied.

I believe your enquiry has been resolved and that by registering with Skipton International Online (our online savings platform) improves the communication going forwards. With regards to the maturity of savings accounts, we advise customers three weeks prior to maturity. Unfortunately, we cannot do this any sooner as rates are not yet available. We would definitely recommend Skipton and would use them again. The customer service was excellent, telephone staff very helpful., helped us to verify documents with zoom call so we did not need to send originals. Very efficient, hard copies of investment details received in a few days

I telephoned Skipton for advice on a savings account. I quickly made contact with an adviser, who was knowledgeable, pleasant and very helpful. Following the conversation, the agreed actions have been confirmed. The service has been very efficient, and I am now earning a higher interest rate on my savings than that offered by the major Banks. I can highly recommend Skipton. The service is far superior to the service I have experienced elsewhere.

The process of opening a offshore account is a new experience for us, we were taken aback somewhat by the amount of proof of ID any means of wealth.
The process in its self went quite smooth, there was a lot of documentation required, we assume this is due to online application and approval, at the end of the process we are both satisfied with the conclusion.

Within days of application, and while waiting for approval, a higher rate fixed term account was on line, I do think this new account should have been offered as an alternative, the difference in interest rate is quite significant.
