business terms such as interest rate and deposit amount required changed in the process, causing lost of trust.
Product Review:
the interest rate offered is not particular competitive, 5 years fixed rate is is too long, early redemption with penalty is unattractive and inflexible as a product. Not recommending this to others.

I thought that Skipton was professional and I found conveyancing people very helpful and professional. It did seem to take a while to process the mortgage but i am sure its because of covid setbacks

I do wish that they had an app or online access to my account so I could monitor and plan my payments or status of the borrowed amount. Skipton seemed expensive but I think this had more to do with the type of mortgage that i had to undertake.

My previous dealings with Skipton Guernsey have been acceptable. However the latest transfer into my Skipton account has been abysmal. - LOCKDOWN????
Due to my transfer to Skipton from Barclays on 15/01/22 not being complete, I contacted Barclays, and on 25/01/21 the shortfall was transferred by Barclays to Skipton who to date have not officially confirmed this transaction. Almost daily between 24/01/21 an 05/02/21 after checking with Skipton who always wrongly confirmed not being in receipt of the transaction I was obliged to contact Barclays by telephone who continued to inform me the transfer had taken place. This was never confirmed by Skipton until a telephone call 05/02/21, approx 1 1/2 hours after confirming no receipt.

Skiptons’ bank fund transfer system obliged me to unnecessarily waste copious time and effort of Barclays and myself. Hopefully the delay will not effect the actual duration of the transfer? SEE PREVIOUS PAGE.

Firstly please accept my apologies for the error in identifying the payment, which was caused by an issue between Skipton and our clearing bank which unfortunately resulted in the payment being credited to the account late. However, the payment has been back dated to give good value on 29 January, the date the payment reached Skipton, so no loss of interest will result. Kind regards Jim Coupe Managing Director

It was a very very slow start to the process, taking many weeks when it should have been days. I appreciate that COVID presents challenges but I am having to manage a 200 strong team of people amid COVID and we have not seen a drop off in our service to our clients, so I find this (administrative) delay surprising. Once the mortgage was approved, things went nice and quickly

Very competitive product prices tips the balance for this and the staff are friendly. From a pure customer experience perspective, the process to apply for this mortgage is highly manual, actually by postal application which took me by surprise. Very little was online. In terms of enquiries to the mortgage team, we received several different communications from different addresses. There is, as far as I can see, also no online banking facility to look at the current balance etc so this is also a big surprise. I am sure this will all improve in the future. The competitive nature of this mortgage made it the right choice for us.
