Once I got in conversation the service was excellent and quickly accomplished what I needed done. Getting in touch was not as smooth as there were a number of missed calls over a week. It also would have been good to get a confirming email with a name attached. As far as I know, the only name I know appears to no longer work for the company. A little personalization would go a long way.

good: allows some optional repayment without fees (up to 10% outstanding balance) even on an interest-only mortgage.
complicated: I got finally the remortgage (better/lower) interest rate but it took a lot of interaction to confirm this for my (inheritance) case. In fact, my intermediary needed to work a lot to help with confirming this approach.
suggestion: I would like to see more being done online, e.g. giving status on the application the start with and also running status during the life of the mortgage.

This was by far the worse experience i have had with a lender. I was treated poorly and in the end it cost me a substantial amount of money due to unnecessary behaviour / unreasonable requests, on Skiptons part. During the process I nearly lost my life savings, due to inaction and a lack of real customer support. I would NEVER recommend Skipton. I only have a Skipton mortgage because at the end they took so long tom complete that I had no choice but to stay with them.
Awful experience....not to be repeated. Buyer beware

Inflexible take it or leave it approach. Solicitor warned of a number of items were not favourable, but in the end i had no choice but to accept the terms in order to complete on time. Early payback penalties are severe

Thank you for your feedback which I have had investigated.
Unfortunately, when a mortgage application is submitted in an incomplete manner and without the application fee it is not unreasonable to expect the missing information be requested so that underwriting may commence. Skipton booked in a property valuation the day after the missing information and fee were received, the valuation was received 4 days later and Skipton issued the mortgage offer that same day, this is hardly inaction and I would suggest much faster than most other lenders.
