Really personal - I like the fact you can talk to someone at the end of the phone line. This was important for us as we are based in NZ and felt better about talking about finances with a real person versus online or chat.

We recently applied for a mortgage with Skipton and I was lucky enough to deal with Lorraine McLean from the jersey branch from the beginning.
She was amazing, professional, organised, prompt, efficient and approachable.
She personally made the whole process effortlessly easy. Having dealt with banks for years when everything seems so complex she made the whole experience easy

We remortgaged with Skipton recently and the whole process from start to finish was straight forward. There was always someone on hand to deal with any questions or queries and we would recommend them to anyone considering a mortgage or remortgage.

My telephone call was, as usual, answered quite promptly. The person I dealt with was polite and efficient, and provided clear information. Above all, she and Skipton were able to carry out the services I wanted (in this case, opening a new fixed deposit account and transferring funds into it) promptly, simply and without fuss or unnecessary bureacracy.

Market leading interest rates (as Skipton consistently offer), and a product that was easy to open and place funds in.

Without online facilities they have to be first class in their customer interface. They are and make you "know" you are important to them - beats a computer any day

Invested in a yearly fixed rate bond and Skipton have some of the most competitive rates. Service is courteous and professional. Staff are limited and sometimes cant get through, but they try to return calls. Yes Id use them again, I have for the last three years.

I found the staff at Skipton friendly and easy to deal with compared to the red tape and complicated procedures that a lot of the big banks have.

I found Skipton International online on moneyfacts.co.uk and they were providing the best fixed rates when compared to other banks. As I was primarily interested in getting the best return for my money, they were my first choice.

Not told that the product terminated 4 weeks in advance of the original agreement and a new 1 year contract had already been arranged. Not told what interest had been generated until a letter was received in the post several weeks later.
Informed 12 and 6 months ago that system would be online 'shortly' but still no signs of it!
Unhappy with customer relations!

Quick and efficient. Proper but not ridiculously onerous security checking.
Also proper disclosure about a new and more advantageous product.
One matter that Skipton International can correct is stop shelving existing accounts so as to attract new customers without compensating existing customers. At least inform existing customers when their accounts are being superseded I s a more correct and proper business practice.

An online facility with login would be helpful even if it was a "viewing only" service.
