Customer Service Review:
Skipton are always very approachable, make helpful suggestions and this helps me choose the right products.
They were also very helpful with my name change when I got married last year.
This all applies whether by phone or in branch.
Product Review:
The product is what I need. A slightly higher interest rate would be nice, hence not 5 stars.

I only use Skipton for investments so good interest rates are critical. These have been static for so long, it rather diminishes the appeal of the product.

The telephone service is always polite and professional .... like it used to be years ago.
But therein lies an issue ..... telephone only service is SO out dated.
I am looking forward to the new online service that was advertised last November with a (still waiting) update pending from early this year ....

5 Stars for the Fixed Rate Bond.
2 Stars for not being able to maintain a minimal balance instant access account through which I could fund more Fixed Rate Bonds.
It just makes it harder and less likely that I'll move funds to Skipton International pending a suitable Fixed Rate product.

Staff are great. But Skipton needs to provide an on line service so accounts can be viewed electronically. .

I agree Skipton should provide an online service and hence last year we implemented our largest ever IT project, a replacement banking system with an online capability. The new banking system is live and we are now testing the online element of the system. We are committed to launch this as soon as is practical, but as I am sure you appreciate such systems require extensive testing. We will be writing to customers as soon as the online service is available.

Competitive products. I only wished that, for example, the 80 day notice product could be converted to the 40 day product during the first 40 days. But no doubt there is a good reason for this.

Requirement to submit everything and receive by post slow and behind the times. Similarly telephone banking rather than online.

Skipton is currently developing and testing an online channel for our savings customers. It is taking a little longer than we hoped, but is expected to be available this year when we will write to customers inviting them to transfer to the service.
