The only minus is the way to monies from one bank into Skipton, which is misleading in as much it has to go through hsbc which is a pain, Skipton should be able to receive the monies direct which would make it easier for all customers.

Unfortunately, Skipton is not a clearing bank and as such we cannot receive transfers directly, so use HSBC as our clearing bank. We make the HSBC account details available in our communications and on our website, asking customers to use their Skipton account number as the payment reference when making a transfer so that the monies are quickly allocated to their account.

What can I tell you, it's not a piece of clothing, something to eat, or get moved around in, it's a financial instrument, we both like it except for the pitiful rate of interest.

The service was efficient and I was able to deal directly with the Mortgage Underwriters by phone or email, rather than waiting for a call centre to redirect the call, as is the case with many banks and building societies. Skipton International understand the difficulty of arranging a loan from abroad, and are helpful and quick to respond. For example, there were some practical difficulties arranging the valuation survey, but the underwriters quickly sorted this out with the letting agency and kept me up to date with the status.

Skipton offer a small but easy to understand range of mortgage products, and good rates.

They are always ready to return a phonecall, even abroad!
Just wish they would remind me by mail or phone when a bond is up, and money
is ready to be reinvested.
Also , that Skipton will be the 1st to raise interest rates.....
