I was very happy with the professional manner in which Skipton International processed my mortgage application. Also how they advised me on upcoming document duty changes, which saved me money. I would use them again.

Hello,
Compiling the information for the mortgage was overly complicated and unclear.
On two occasions the Skipton representative declared that the deal would be void if I didn’t supply certain documents within a week. Of which some documents required posting the wetted signed document. Living in Italy and relying on the Italian postal service is impossible and caused a great deal of stress. When this happen for the second time without warning I was very close to cancelling the mortgage.
On top of this the documents required kept on growing in number and seemed never ending. Some of which were never listed in the original application and caused a great amount of time and energy to obtain. This was increasing stressful when my representative declared they had to be available within a week or the deal would be void and I’d lose my application fee.
I found my representative particularly unhelpful and would NOT recommend the process.

Thank you for your feedback, which I have had investigated.Unfortunately when an application is not completed and required supporting documentation outlined on the application is not provided then underwriting cannot be completed. 14 outstanding items were requested on the day the application was received. Despite this the valuation was instructed immediately the Application Fee was finally received, and the surveyor unfortunately indicated further reports were required.
I am satisfied the underwriters did everything possible to progress this application in the circumstances.

The telephone banking service is effective and professional... BUT, I have one enduring annoyance with Skipton ... regardless of numerous "promises" there is still no on-line banking. Skipton is the only bank I use which does not provide that service (I use 12 banks worldwide).

This is the single largest investment Skipton International has ever made and it has taken longer than hoped as you point out, although I would confirm we have never promised a particular launch date. Skipton will not launch the online service until we are entirely satisfied with its robustness, security and functionality. We hope to start rolling out the service in the coming weeks.
